The Lil Hogfarmers Go Racing

April 13, 2022

On March 5, 2022, we hosted a NASCAR event at Richmond International Raceway (RIR) for Sophie who is battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and Ryan who is battling Diffuse Leptomeningeal Glioneuronal. This suite event, which was catered, included pit passes and the opportunity to autograph the start/finish line was sponsored by Holiday Ice out of Suffolk, VA with assistance from former NASCAR driver Hermie Sadler and RIR track President Dennis Bickmeier. The children and their families enjoyed seeing the race cars in the pits and signing the start/finish line before the race. Both cancer warriors were given a custom T-shirt to commemorate the day and “Hero” race cards that were distributed to all family members. It was a fun filled day that exceed the goal of allowing a kid to “just be a kid”.
